Welcome to the website of Alex Lamers! I am a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Tallahassee, Florida. Anything I post on this website is my opinion or work and does not necessarily reflect the views of my employers.

I am a native of Wisconsin, but I have also lived in California, Oklahoma, Minnesota, and now Florida. I have been interested in meteorology for as long as I can remember, and I enjoy studying the weather on a daily basis now as a profession.

Wake Low Research: developing a parameter to increase situational awareness during wake low events, and offer some guidance to forecasters about the potential severity of the associated wind gusts.
